As a member of the NJLN we encourage you to become involved and make the most of your membership by sharing your experience! One way of doing this is by joining a committee. We ask that you review the committees below and complete the submission form by clicking on "Join a Committee", if you are interested. You will be contacted to discuss the open positions, as well as the time commitment, since each committee does require different levels of participation.

Please consider joining a committee to lend your expertise, get more involved, meet new people and help make a difference!

COMMITTEE OPPORTUNITIES:

CONVENTION COMMITTEE: Be a part of helping to create and deliver our Annual Convention in Atlantic City! We are looking for individuals who would like to contribute to all aspects of planning and execution. This committee has many opportunities given the scale of planning, and the diverse skill-set needed to deliver on this event. This is a great entry point to joining a committee and meeting new people!

FINANCE COMMITTEE: The Finance Committee supports the Treasurer in defining and recommending to the NJLN Board yearly budgets and long term financial plans for the League. The committee provides financial oversight for the League including assuring adequate financial resources, advice concerning short and long-term investments, and review of such activities as fundraising, and internal and external auditing.

NURSE RECOGNITION COMMITTEE: Members of the Nurse Recognition Committee are a part of the annual planning, management and executive for this recognition and scholarship fundraising event. The annual Nurse Recognition Committee seeks individuals who would like to help in all aspects of planning, both behind the scenes as well as on-site, or virtual if the event is remote, we have a role for you.

NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE (elected position): The nominations committee is responsible for soliciting individuals who may be interested in serving in an elected position capacity. This individual would help prepare a slate of eligible candidates reflecting the diverse membership of the NJLN, present an annual report to the Board on the annual nominations, and be advisory to the Board on all matters relating to Board development. This is also an elected position, so appointment only occurs once a year during the Annual Convention in March.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: This committee has responsibility for all aspects of recruiting new members, retaining current members and developing and executing on campaigns to generate membership awareness. You would act as a representative of the NJLN at events to support the membership booth or table to share the benefits of joining and to sign-up new members on the spot.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE: This committee defines and delivers on educational programs beyond our Annual Convention. As a member you would focus on identifying relevant topics that can be turned in to an event for the benefit of our members, future members, nursing schools, or fulfills a current education gap for the greater good of the nursing community. One example is our yearly Practical Nurse Educators Day, where newly graduating LPN’s come to learn about the journey in to practice from key subject matter experts.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: As a member you are responsible to review, discuss and select the scholarship awards based on the NJLN criteria that has been defined and implemented. As needed, you will revisit the criteria and process to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the NJLN in selecting the recipients.
